E85 sport button trim broken

Hi all,
So I seem to have broken the trim surround for my sport button. I was stupidly playing with it and tried to lift it up and it snapped out. Thinking it was okay I just had a look and tried to put it back but it won't click back in.
Any ideas what happened here (aside from me being an idiot and that it's broken ).
Any help would be appreciated!

The sport button is very easy to get damaged if you wanna remove it. It basically is like a sandwich, top ring and the button box clip together and clamp the board.
I guess you may damage the snap between the ring and the bottom. Cuz that is how I broke mine. What I do is use soldering iron to solder them

I would start in any event by taking the remainder of the button out (I take it the plastic ring surrounding it came off in one piece and the actual button is still in situ). Could very well be that thing click together again then, or are easy to fixate otherwise. Taking the actual button out can be done by removing gear knob, boot and foam and trying to squeeze the retainers and then pushing upwards.
