E85 Spec/ Options

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying an E85 3.0i and I was hoping for some advice :)

What I'm not sure about, is what trim level to go for. According to Parkers, you don't gain much for going for an SE over the standard trim. Are there any options that are particularly desirable? Budget is £6000.

electric roof ( yeah they do come without)
airco
heated seats.
M seats ( if possible )
MFL steeringhweel or M wheel.
clear headlights ( without the orange turnsignal)

Confusingly, in BMWs the "SE" model in reality is the poverty spec model. The Sport models are usually the more desirable models with different body styling, wheels, seats, steering wheel etc. So generally people avoid SE models. There are of course excpetions to this rule as any BMW can be configured with any optional extras, so occasionally you see SEs with nav, individual interiors etc.

Do 3.0i's come in sport trim? I thought they were all ''se spec'' until facelift, where the engine changed to a 3.0si.

Yes you may be right, I'm no expert on the earlier Z4s but mine is an si sport. I was referring more to BMW models in general (eg compare a 1/3/5/6 SE to Sport and you'll see what I mean.)

Check out the link below which covers pre facelift 3.0i. Pre facelift 3.0 and 3.0 SE are basically the same car. Sport trim wasn't offered until the facelift was introduced in 2006.

In the UK, there were no manual roof options. That was only available on the continent.
