Hi Everyone,

As I’m likely to be starting to keep the Z4 outdoors in the future I’m thinking of getting a half cover to go over the soft top.

I’ve looked through the forum but couldn’t find any conclusive view on if there is a decent one to go for.

Can anyone recommend a type/brand to buy, or where to buy from - or does anyone have a spare one kicking around that they’d be interested in selling?

Equally, if anyone thinks they’re a bad idea please let me know!

I use the Autoglym stuff. Others on here use the the Milton baby cleaning stuff for the green algae that builds up.

Usually just hoover the roof, lint roller after that. That's usually enough.

Hose of the bird s**t asap though then do the autoglym stuff in the area that's been hosed down.
 
Bird droppings don't shift that easily the cover makes total sense and cats don't like it as much to snooze on.
 
Good to know they’re hard wearing and cleaning is an option.

Are there any thoughts/opinions from those with covers please?

I’ve got a half cover I’ll sell you, let me dig it out tomorrow & take some pics of it :thumbsup:

I am planning to use a half cover through the winter especially for the frosty mornings, I am a bit worried about covering the roof if it's damp... I guess I'll see how I go. But for now - just going to enjoy the sun!

Aaaargh! I was reminded this afternoon that I threw the cover away while recently getting ready for my house move :roll:

I bought one of these:

Mine's faded quite badly but it's really easy to take on and off, it's got magnets that keep it attached to the car and it tucks into the boot (but make sure you tuck it into the water run off channel).

I'm really pleased with it, it helps me keep the roof nice and clean and it doesn't take too long to take off when I want to take the car for a spin. It also comes with a carry case to pack it into when I don't need it.

Mines a half cover with magnets like the previous post from ukcustomcovers.com i bought mine for £50 second hand from a forum member very happy with it :driving:

I have a brand new one that I don’t use. Will

I have a burgundy one I might be getting rid of , from cabrio shield only used last spring , I love it and never intended to completely cove the car next winter , but my merlot red gets so dusty , I found myself buying an indoor cover to put on it in the work car park , now having covered it all summer, I’m toying with the idea of getting a full cover for it for winter B7CB866F-9657-414A-A057-9608CB9F20FB.jpeg

Mine’s Titan Silver, but as mentioned I’ve taken Rob’s off him - not actually tried it yet but it looks like it will do the job!!
