I’ve just bought one off eBay from Germany.
“Original BMW Z4 carbon diffuser for BMW Z4 E85 E86 51710410384 aerodynamics. Condition: New". Shipping with DHL package up to 2 kg.
Original packed! With all accessories”

Hopefully it’s a quick delivery

Hi Doddsy,

I've managed to acquire one of these as well, albeit second hand. I'm wrestling with how I'll fit however, as I have a hunch that the original came with a template of sort that you overlay onto the rear bumper to help with cutting & fitment. Did one come with yours? Would you still have it? If not, how did you go about fitting it? (actually, even if it didn't come with one, I'd welcome your thoughts on fitting it!)

Any tips/do's/don'ts would be greatly appreciated.

It did but it was a sticker you place on your bumper so you can cut out and drill. Once that’s done it’s a lot easier to then fix the diffuser to the bumper if you remove the bumper from the car. Mine came with the original fixings that had metal rods welded to make it easier to feed them through and then they just snap off if any of that makes sense as it’s quite tight and fiddly bolting it together. Just make sure the fins line up with the lines in the bumper where the registration plate is as the template kicks it out of alignment to the right slightly. Also started cutting the bumper with my dremel but then used my Multitool with a wide blade and that cut through nicely.

Thanks for the info Doddsy, that aligns with what I suspected to date. Although the diffuser is no longer available, I wonder if BMW might still have the sticker template? I'll drop them a mail and see.

Failing that, I'll just have to wing it, line it up as best I can.
