I know this has come up on here quite a few times with various no sound from stereo problems. However I want to know whether it is possible to determine if the amp was the problem by connecting up the in out pins at the amp from the speakers to see if the volume control on the stereo responds. Effectively bypassing the amp and using the HU to power the speakers.
I don't want to buy a new amp and then discover it was a faulty headunit volume control knob. Headunit works perfectly except for no sound. The boot isn't wet and there is no sign of corrosion on the amp.
