E85 Hardtop

I have recently bought an '07 E85 2.0 convertible and have noticed hardtops for sale on Ebay, how do they fit ? would they fit on mine ? any other info gratefully received,

It should fit all UK vehicles were "hardtop Prepared " its clips in on both sides near the side of the seats & at the front above the windscreen

Make sure you buy one with 2 locking keys (one for the side mechanisms, and one for the front). Also it should come with side covers (these cover the locking mechanisms inside the car once the roof is on - they go for up to £100 a pair!) plus a small oval cover for the front locking access. Consider a stand too - these are very handy if you need to wheel the hardtop around, some sellers include a stand and a full hardtop storage cover in the price.

Interesting. These are my keys - the bottom one locks the sides down and the top one locks the front:

I'm wondering if the top one is missing an end and that the bottom one was hand made to replace it because it would make sense to only have as single key?

Those are not BMW keys just an hex key and a smaller rounded off one. OEM is a hex key shaped machined round at the shorter end

No big deal though as they do a simple job twice a year

I bought one of macs keys Collin, really good quality tool

The top key in your photo Marlon is the BMW OEM one. The round end for turning the sidelocks has been snapped off. A previous owner has likely forced the key in the wrong direction and broken it....numpty !

Yeah, makes sense patriot - it didn't add up having 2 keys

My error. For some reason I thought my OEM key was shorter on the rounded pin end and I missed the broken tip viewing on ipad
