E85 3.0Si - what’s it worth?

Hi all

I have an opportunity to purchase an Alfa 147 GTA - a car I’ve wanted for a long time. It will mean that I would probably have to sell the Z4 to free up the garage space.

I am wondering what sort of value to put on the Z4. I’ve owned since 2019 but has had minimal use the last couple of years, and it could probably do with some bits and pieces being doing, but by no means is a basket case.

2007 Z4 3.0Si Auto - 118k miles.
Rare Ruby Black with Champagne Leather and Piano Black dash
Sat Nav
Heated seats
Folding mirrors

12 months MOT - one advisory for slight play in front suspension ball joint.
Only done just over 1,000 in the last 12-18 months.
Reasonable service history, with recent oil/filter change (will need to dig out paperwork). Had a gearbox oil change completed a couple of years ago as well. 4 brand new tyres less than 1k miles ago. Has had a new roof motor fitted in 2021 and been garaged kept since.

Few things I would get done if I was keeping:
  • Slight blow in mid section of exhaust (wasn’t an MOT advisory but is there
  • AC seems to have a leak somewhere - not yet had it diagnosed
  • Couple of scuffs/small dents around the car
  • Leather seats could do with a tidy but equally usable as is
  • Steering wheel has signs of wear
  • Alloy wheels could do with a refurb - could also come with a set of MV2s with tyres but will also need a refurb

Any idea on ball park figure?

Buyers market at the moment, seems people are off loading 3.0l cars probably due to Tax hike you could try for 4k but aircon problem will put people off, the other things are easy fixes. Trawl ebay see what other cars are being priced at.

The car looks smart and is a great colour combo, but the description (full marks for honesty) makes it sound a bit scruffy. High miles and “reasonable” service history will put a lot of people off and being an auto will limit your market. Colb’s £4k seems about right.

Thanks both for the feedback and the full marks for honesty :D It’s always good to be open and upfront.

I think I’ve probably shot myself in the foot with the reasonable comment, I didn’t have the details to hand so couldn’t say for sure what it was, but can add this later.

Do you know what it typically is for AC leaks? I’m assuming condenser but can absolutely get it booked in to check either way.

Thanks again.

It could be a number of things, bad O ring seals on pipes or Condenser really needs putting on a machine and testing, dye in system should show under an ultraviolet light to show where its leaking if it is at all and not just a case of it needing a refresh.
Had mine recharged at ATS Euromaster using a Groupon discount.

Also the wheels are non-standard and won’t be everyone’s taste. You should get the MV2s back on for sale, if they’re in reasonably good condition.

It's hard to tell from those photos, but if they are M-Sport seats that will definitely help.

Why not get the A/C looked at? If it's just a regas you'll be quids in. I got a new condenser supplied and fitted to my previous Z4 in 2019 for just over £300.

As Zedebee said it would sell better on the MV2s.
