E85 3.0si spec question

Merry Christmas all!

Looking at getting into another e85 3.0 Z4 as really miss the Z! just deciding wether to go facelift or pre facelift, I know all the engine differences, just want an answer on spec differences, were there any standard spec options added on the facelift 3.0si? one in particular is the sound system I know on pre facelift there were 3 levels and I’d like the top carver sound system ideally was this an option on the facelift ? What is the standard sound system like on face lift 3.0si?

Thanks in advance.

I think the audio systems are the same specs for 3.0si - mine came with the same Business head unit & 6 speaker setup that I had in the 2.5i pre-facelift, although it had bluetooth phone specced as well which the 2.5i didn't. I think you'd need to look for one that had the box ticked to upgrade the audio system.

You remind me, I've got the door mid-range speakers to fit to the 3.0si, made a huge difference to the audio quality in the 2.5i when I did it.

As Caius said the facelift came as standard with the 6 speaker system, and there were the same two options for an upgraded stereo.

My first Coupe had the top of the range Carver System and it was too loud for my ears! My second had the standard "basic" one and in a small cockpit I though it was pretty good TBF, but then I'm no audiophile!

I don't think the facelifts got any other upgrades in spec. either, although the Sport models did come with the highly desirable M-Sport seats, suspension and steering wheel. I've seen a few SE models with those seats from the options list, but pre-facelifts only seem to have them if they've been retro-fitted.

As above there were 2 options to upgrade the hifi from the standard 6 speaker set up. They were a 10 speaker conventional set with extra amp in the boot, or the top of the range 10 speaker DSP “Carver” system.

The 6 speaker system was weedy in my coupe. I had the same in my first roadster which I upgraded with two extra door speakers for a definite improvement. I have the mid range 10-speaker outfit in my current roadster which is plenty satisfactory. The DSP system is sonically superior and has more watts, but seems to fail more often and is difficult to upgrade.
