Hi all I have recently bought a 07 E85 3.0si and I am looking at carrying out a complete service for peace of mind so I know it's all been done correctly. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get an auto service kit from?

TIA
George

RealOEM will give you part numbers: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/en/select

Looks like 24152333907

I would suggest using a ZF sump (as they make the transmission). Half the price of BMW.

If you are going to change the fluid on a better and more regular schedule I'd not bother with the ZF fluid, just find one that meets the spec. e.g. Millers ATF MV-Extra.

I assume the process will be similar for the 6HP as for the 8HP I have done. It will need filling at a relatively narrow transmission oil temp and checking while level, so a pit is ideal and you'll need something to read the oil temp.

As you won't be able to drain and fill the whole transmission I'd then consider doing at least 2 more changes before doing the sump/filter again then you know it's all been swapped out.

Hi Scooba Steve many thanks for your reply and the link, looks like I'm going to have some fun doing that, overall I may look at mixing in the gearbox service with my engine service and do them both yearly, I'm a big fan of yearly services.

I would suggest annually or less than 10k miles for engine oil.

Gearbox doesn't need to be as frequent; I think the ZF state 50-75k. But if it has not been done before then to exchange most of it you will need 3 or 4 service fills. Hence my suggestion to do the sump (with included filter) then 2 more perhaps over a year. Then you can go back to a regular schedule.
