Intro
For sale my 2006 BMW Z4 E85 3.0si with 116k miles and service history. It also has the upgraded HiFi sound system with the extra speakers and subwoofers. I have owned it for 14 months now, purely as a fun weekend car which you will see reflected in the mileage on the MOT history. I am looking for something new to play with, which has 4 seats, hence the reason for sale. You will see from my signature that I do like to change cars regularly and enjoy different ownership experiences.

I have all the documentation, a folder of receipts from previous owners, service book, and two keys. I can also share a VCheck report with you I ran when I purchased the car showing it clear of any damage/finance, of course feel free to run your own.

I have kept a log of the ownership here where you will see little or no issues https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=142500

How I bought it
It is very good condition for the age, the only age related marks are general wear and tear on the front bumper as to be expected, along with a small ding in the front right wing which appeared very recently. It has BMW MV2 wheels all of which are free of marks except a couple of marks on the front passenger side wheel. This aside, the car is in fantastic condition inside and out.

The roof motor has been relocated to the boot and functions perfectly. The common issue of the water pump has been replaced with a Pierburg item. The exhaust has had a modification to it, where the back box has been modified to allow a deeper noise. Its not a straight pipe, the box was opened, some of the noise reducing material removed, and then the box sealed up again. It has a K&N air filter.

The car also has had at some point the Carly interface used on it with the following additions over the standard car:
  • Remotely operate the roof using the key
The indicators flash when locking the car
The indicator does three flashes when you half pull it down

In terms of options, it came with:
  • Upgraded HiFi stereo
    Power Folding Mirrors
Full M Sport electric heated seats
    M Sport suspension
    M sport MF steering wheel
    M Sport weighted gear knob
    Rear parking sensors
    Xenon lights
    Cruise Control
    Wind deflector

My work on it
The car itself is pretty much standard aside from the following modifications and work I have done since purchase:
  • Installed new battery June 2023
Installed 15mm/20mm spacers front and rear
Replaced the front grills with black items (have originals)
I have wrapped the interior dash with a soft touch alcantara vinyl
I have installed a bluetooth unit behind the dash for calls and music
Installed a metal grill to the lower front of the car for aesthetic improvement
    Cup holder on driver side
I have a built in dashcam which I will leave in

All the mods are easily reversible if they are not to your liking. I have done lots of little bits and pieces to it to keep it looking good, from respraying the wiper arms to changing the little M badges on the wheels.

Sum up
The sale is legitimate, I've had nearly 2 1/2 years in an E86 and E85 and am looking to try something different. Looking at my signature you will see I like to try different cars out and enjoy the ownership experience! Just MOT'd.

I'm a huge detailing fanatic and the car has wanted for nothing, it is regularly snow foamed, decontaminated, clayed, cleaned, ceramic shampoo sealant and waxed. I even wrote some short guides on here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=144827

I'm going to post up some pics and videos shortly...

I am looking for £5950 and am based in West London near Twickenham. The facelift 3.0si are a rare sight on the road, and this one is loaded with options, wanted for nothing, and I feel worth what I am asking. If you feel that you don't agree with the price I am asking, I respectfully ask you keep that to yourself or if it bothers you significantly enough, message me directly with your concerns.

Other than that, any questions please shout. Thanks, Col.

Proper advert

Good looking car that and keenly priced

Good luck with sale bud

That's a smart Z4 with desirable options - GLWTS.

Thanks guys.
I've edited the original post as I forgot it also has cruise control and the OEM wind deflector in place.
Oh and it sits on Michelin PS4 tyres.

MOT booked in for Wednesday, replacement horns bought from Enuff-Zed and will be fixed for the MOT.

Price adjusted based on some browsing around the last week.

I have a mini-wirehaired dachshund that 'supervised' me testing those horns in the garage. I just finished cleaning the floor.

This is my old car! Great to see it still going. It was a great car for me. I did a lot of the mods ie roof motor relocated, exhaust mod, Carly etc. don’t think it’s in your advert but I also replaced a lot of the suspension bushes etc somewhere around 4-5 years ago from memory.

I’ll try to dig out my advert incase there’s anything else that’ll help your sale

Ps it also has cruise control which isn’t mentioned :)

Thanks for that Ryan, much appreciated.
I did add in Cruise Control into the options list.

Just got back from the MOT station with a new years MOT on it
I also swapped over the two horns that Enuff_Zed sold me and they solved the horn problem!

Car has just disappeared over the horizon with its new owner at the wheel.
Great buyer, no hassle, thank you!

Pleased for you..interesting how good quality E85s are now selling for more than some later E89s.. :tumbleweed:

Different audience though, I for one would never chose an E89

Whilst I appreciate that there are some die hards in any camp the fact that many newbies flop between models in their acquisition process and then quite a few folks move across camps I suspect that your dogmatic view is not representative of all segments of the broader roadster market..

Time moves on but my first foray into buying a ‘toy’ in 2016 was in fact a 30si..in the end after looking at TTs, XK etc I went with an E89..had there been an Atacama Yellow E85 history may have been different.. :tumbleweed:

Should have gone with my original plan of buying a TR7 drop head..would have been a lot cheaper…
