E85 2.5i adding a sound generator kit.

Hi guys, I have a 2007 e85 roadster 2.5i the 178bhp facelift model with the N52 engine.
I want to see if I can ‘retro fit’ a sound generator. I’ve just added an msport mfsw and a zhp gearknob and this a mod I’d like to see if I can add.
I’ve seen on a previous post of old that a guy had fitted the 3.0si kit to his 2.5si. I’ve looked on bmw parts online and seen this kit shown in the picture but I’m uncertain if the diameter of the connection to my current air box and to the inlet manifold will be the same or enough to enable me to fit it without any air leaks...my current air pipe/boot is the same as item 3 in the diagram so I’m hopeful this will fit just comes down to diameter of the connections I think... any advice welcome!

I have a complete 3.0si sound generator on the shelf. Let me know if you want me to measure anything.

I did this retrofit to my 2.5i. Air box and throttle body connection is the same across the entire range, so don't worry. I think buying [ref]Liam22[/ref]'s sound generator (if he's selling it) will certainly be cheaper than buying from BMW. I got a quote from Synther Maidenhead for all the necessary parts for the retro-fit and it was outrageously expensive - almost £300.

Thanks for the confirmation Lucas and the offer of help Liam, appreciated....and like you said to buy new from BMW is hard to justify really.....so Liam if I can interest you in selling your kit as it’s only sitting on a shelf then please let me know!
