E46 rear axle on Z4

Hello
So, i m gonna make it short. I managed to destroy my rear axle on an 2.5 manual e85 by drifting and hitting a very big curb on the side. Due to lack of parts for Z4 in my city and around, i m gonna try and fit an e46 axle. Has anyone ever tried that? If not, i ll keep you updated on how things are going. 😁

The upper wishbone is the same as the E46. The lower one is the same as the E83 X3. The trailing arms, subframe, diff and driveshafts are unique to the Z4.

Good luck!

Hello I’m back with updates:)
Actually, the only things that differ are the axles, and the diff.

The lower withbone and axles need to be changed if you want to fit am e46 rear axle on the Z4:)

Interesting. I was going by RealOEM which usually seems spot on for cross referencing. However, BMW is very modular in its approach so there's certainly overlap in fitment if not sizes.
