Hello all,
I recently sold my Z4 M Coupe
, so i could put some money into the house. For the time being i have purchased an E46 325 Touring as a cheap daily hack to run around in.
I had noticed that on initial start up there was a groaning coming from what seems to be the passenger side of the car, under passenger seat. The car then failed to start whilst it was parked up hill with 1/4 tank of fuel in. After brimming the tank it started and ran fine, however I figured a weak pump was the cause so ordered a replacement.
Replacement pump arrived yesterday. However on the way home from work, again 1/4 tank of fuel the car stalled and wouldn't start again. Frustratingly i had the pump in the boot but all the same had to be recovered home.
30 minutes later the replacement pump is fitted and the car is back up and running again, and i was hoping was the cause of my groaning noise. Unfortunately when i came to start it this morning the noise is still there and if blipping the throttle it comes and goes in sync.
My next plan of attack is going to be the fuel filter, even though it shows as having been done on the last service. Aside from this what else could it be?
I think mine is a later filter which has a vacuum line attached. Any ideas what this is for? If this is perished could it be causing a problem?
