e38 style 32's

Iv got a full set of 5 of these but my plans have changed, offering them up for sale here as I think they would look the absolute business on a coupe.

These are the low offset deep dish ones so should fit the z4 but would probs need a slight stretch on the tyre but iv never seen any pictures of a zed with these fitted, your chance to be the first.

Look like this on an e46 and we know the e46 and z4 has the same wheel fitment so 'should' go on.

After £350 for the set, no tyres.

NE based.

the 5th is another front as you can use that at the rear where you wouldnt be able to use a rear at the front.

I may be wrong but aren't the offsets of the e38 as low as 20 and 22 which would be too low for a Z4?

nope you are right mr wheel nut :) e38 or 7 series did have 15/25 offset which would mean a 20mm move out from the hub to the arch = chaffing :o
shame cause they look real swell :x

Hi, where abouts in the North East are you based? My dad could be tempted for these for his e46 coupe. What width are the wheels? I take it they are 18s?

Mike

They are Et 20 & 22, 8 & 9" respectively, all 18"

Agree they are low offset which is why they look ace, iirc there have been people who run up to 20mm spacers on a zed so I remain confident they would go on with a smaller tyre.

Most people who run them on a e46 use a 215x40 R18 all round which is a bit of a stretch in the rear but within certain tyre manufacturers specs for rim width(falken in particular)

I still think they they are the best looking oem wheel but I now have a 260 mile commute and want some 17"'s to put winter tyres on (my e46)

Mike

im in darlington but regularly in York as its where my parents live.

I have 20mm spacers on the rear of my Z, no issues ; got 15mm on the front so not sure what 18mm would do. I have Eibachs on mine and get some rubbing up front when pushing on (driver side mainly) however on stock Sport springs you might just get away with 18mm wider track each side up front. Theses are seriously nice wheels - would look great on a coupe as said.

Cheers ill have a word with him. Could you let me know the size of the wheels though. I take it they are 18s, and also whats the width of the wheels? Thanks

Got a set refurbished in anthracite as my winter wheels. I think they were from an M3 as they are staggered and have the same offset as standard 108s.

Half Colin, yours aren't dished though - does that make a difference to the offset ?

Colin's are standard E36/E46 offset so will bolt straight on the dished rims are from an E38 with lower offsets, that E46 was running 215 fronts and 225 rears with a decent amount of stretch, worked well with the coilovers. IMO If you run the E38 style 32's you need to be uber low!

sorry was on my phone at work and didnt see you had posted the rim width, bloody phones! Ill have a word with him and see what he says

Yes - big difference.

Standard staggered is FR 8in ET47 & RR 8.5in ET50
These dished ones are FR 8in ET20 & RR 9in ET22

The effect of the dished wheels on a Z4 would be to move the wheels outwards 27mm at the front and 34mm at the rear. Not sure you'd have the room in the wheel arches to be honest.

You can check the effect on this site http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Looking at those figures, I dont think so either. I have 20mm rear, 15mm front and lowered. The rears could maybe take a little more, but the fronts rub as it is.

Ive asked but hes not interested im afraid, thought id let you know. If I was after some 18s then id defiantly have bought these :-) but just bought some 19s
