Picked up a couple of large sheets from a forum member at Zedfest, as the tinny doors have annoyed me since day one.

Fitted today, about 30 mins per side. WHAT a difference!

Before video, notice how tinny the door sounds when tapped..

Did mine today too along with fitting a set of speakers - big difference!
 
Did my last one over Christmas, but I now have to do my new one. It's amazing the difference it makes.good job Mike :thumbsup:
 
Nice work, heard the difference at zedfest and it is quite significant. However :tumbleweed: i think the tinny doors are part of the cars character and as such mine will be staying tinny :thumbsup:
Mine will be forever a whippy tinny zed :rofl: :rofl:

Keen on adding this to mine. It’s more the clunk sounding like a car crash every time the door’s slammed that annoys me. Does it improve that much or is it mainly just the Golfesque tapping noise?

What size sheets did you use, and is it just the cards that need to be removed to do this?
 
£30.00! I got a sheet of sound deadening material from my local motor factors for £1.50 a sheet, works a treat.

Yes the tinny clang when shutting the doors has gone completely. The Carver DSP also sounds noticeably better, now the door skins aren't rattling to the beat!

You get what you pay for.. Dynamat ain't cheap, but it's good stuff. I got the 1000 × 500 size sheets and each one did the whole of the door skin and all edges of the side impact bar, as well as a few pieces on the inner for panel under the door card.

Dynamat is good, I've used Silent coat in the past, also good. Gong to be fixing window regulator this week so planning to fit a couple of sheets of deadening at the same time. You don't need to cover the whole door, just a large proportion to stop vibration.

I went silent coat earlier this year when upgrading my speakers, doors feel and sound quality now rather than like an old Fiat Punto I once owned.
 
Wow I have a few sheets of Dynamat in the garage that I bought about three cars ago, I never bothered with it. Maybe the Zed will be the first to get the full Dynamat experience.
 
To be fair thanatu55 yours is a facelift - I think they got some sound-deadening in the factory!

But you never know, more may be better!
 
Always rated Dynamat Extreme, its not cheap like others have said but its very good.

something I always planned on doing to my Z4 but never got around to it :(
