DVLA V5 logbooks being resent out???

Just received a new V5 in RED from the DVLA for my mum's mini.

They say that due to the theft of these forms some time back they are re-issuing all the logbooks printed in blue with a new V5 logbook in red & to dispose of the old blue one.

Given the total lack of security at the DVLA, has anyone else received a new logbook in the post, aware of this or know if this is a scam?
 
I googled it first & there's only a reference to the theft, no mention of reissuing.

Only was shown this morning, looks like we should all be more wary & bear this in mind
 
yep it's legit, i got both of my cars sent separately probs 2-3months ago.. dread to think how much it cost, all from roadtax no doubt.

Good luck with that... I tried to phone then last week to chase up a V5 so we could tax Mrs Lozzer's new car. Automated message - "We're very busy" - then promptly cut off. For two days solidly - and that was after their strike, too. :thumbsdown:

Thanks, looks like it's legit then but have neither had a reprint for either the Zed nr A3, maybe they're just getting round to my surname initial.
 
Yes, they're all being re-issued.

Not sure how it could even be a scam if you've been sent a new log book?!
 
My wife's came through a couple of months ago. Mine hadn't come through before I sold my last car and bought the Zed, which came with a nice new red one.

Not sure how they're prioritising sending them out, but it must be costing an absolute/unnecessary fortune. :o
 
Received the red V5's a while back one for the Zed and one for the GF's 500 i did think it was a bit strange at the time but all above board. :thumbsup:
