Interesting prices - I agree with you that SA17 DHU will look like any other nondescript plate on the road, meaningful only to the owner - bonkers price.

I agree. I have a private plate that is only really meaningful to me (although anyone who speaks Maltese will instantly “get it”). I quite like the fact it is so clear to me in one language and nondescript in another - like a secret code

Best part is I paid the basic DVLA price for it

It's just ridiculous. Apparently,

17 = N
7 = T
3 = E

All of the above are debatable, but what's not is that any of those combinations = t**t.
