The head unit does not appear to play mp3 CDs which would have been fine for me.

So what are my options for ipod or usb playback?

Hi,

A 06 business head unit should play MP3 CDs fine. Have you tried just simple 192mbs files, just placing the files in the root?

Searching the forum, there’s plenty of options with this head unit - several threads on aux in, GROM and BT modules.

Thanks Mike I'll try that, the CD was divided into folders. I did search the forum but it's a minefield and some of the threads are very out of date. Not much from what I can specifically see relating to the DSP. There are a couple of threads that mention to change the head unit I need a different amp for the DSP but nowhere on the whole internet have I been able to find which amp this is..

there are some cheap BT modules on eBay that allow you to either connect to the cd-changer connectors in the boot or into the harness at the front. I would have thought they work with the DSP set up as they still send a signal through the HU to the amp. I went for a Dension unit that fits into the HU harness at the front and allows me to plug in an iPhone. I have the 10 speaker non-DSP setup and everything works fine.

Thanks, I will look at Dension.

So following the advice above I found out the CD does play mp3 but they have to be lumped on as files, it doesn't seem to get on with folders. Annoying but still a solution for 2 hour journeys. Any way to navigate folders?

From memory, I think you can burn a data cd with folders and use the M-button to toggle between song file and folder browsing. Anyone remeber if there was any restrictions regarding folder name or file naming?

Thanks will try that. You are far more informative than the vehicle handbook!
