Ive got the dreaded yellow lights on the dash dsc and handbrake it happened months ago but went off and never came back. just recently its got a bit more frequent to the point it was coming on each day for a week but ive had more important things to worry about in that week. The car hasnt been used since sat 15aug and today it came on straight away.

so ive read the how too regarding replacing the sensor and was surprised how easy it sounds.

just 2 questions.
1. using the obd reader is how can i identify which one is goosed (or even if its both)
2. is there anything else it can be

ok one more

3, other than ebay anywhere to buy one of these? i'd rather get a new one than a second hand.

1.I read mine with my reader (C110)
2, Probably not (it shares the part with the e46 so plentiful supply)
Its a very simple fix when you get a replacement part. (5 mins) I wrote a how too but it was waiting to be published the last time i looked

might have been yours i read then it was nice and simple/clear? just was wondering which code identifies which one of the two but i did read somewhere about it being a V or H on the code to signal front or back

the procedure was basically put pressure on the pedal, crack the tension using 27mm spanner, unscrew by hand, screw new one in, start/restart car to get it to register?

That's it ......simple as.
There is a thread that identifies front or rear. I bought a second hand E46 sensor (bit of a risk but promised money back)
No problems

If you look at the thread below, the 2nd & 3rd pages have the info necessary for the DIY repair and has a diagram indicating which sensor is which.
