DRL / Angle eye bulbs

looking to upgrade my yellow DRL / Angle eye bulbs on my 2012 pre face lift to some white LED ones. But cant decide what bulbs to get. I know they are H8, any recommendations from personal experience on good bulbs which are error free?

There's a few threads here about white angel eyes.

It is a known issue by design that the outer halo's will never be as bright as the inner one when using LED bulbs. Not even the most expensive ones.

This is my experience with the Fizzmo H8 - 80w :

It looks good on a cloudy / not so bright day. In a very bright day, the outer halo's will still look faint. I bought the above from eBay about a year ago, so far so good with no errors.

Lux Angel Eyes

Yes, probably the best of the bunch.

The Philips H8 Xtreme Vision look pretty good as well:

As per the other discussion on “mods” when I upgraded to LED angel eyes I now get “flashed” by oncoming traffic at night as if my dipped main beam is undipped which of course it’s not. Why does changing the angel/side light bulb increase the brightness of the main beam and is there anything I can do about it (aside from go back to yellow angel eyes!).

Hmm, I have not noticed my main beam being brighter after installing the H8 LED's.

The options I know that can be coded (Carista - not sure Carly or others) are

"Angel eyes" brightness when markers or headlights are on (method A)
Off / 11.7 volts / 12.2 volts / 13 volts / 13.7 volts / 100%

"Angel eyes" brightness when high beams are on
Off / 11.7 volts / 12.2 volts / 13 volts / 13.7 volts / 100%

"Angel eyes" brightness when parking lights are on
Off / 11.7 volts / 13 volts / 13.7 volts / 100%

Halogen high beam brightness (flash-to-pass or non-bi-xenon high beams)
Off / 13 volts

Halogen high beam brightness when bi-xenon high beams are on
Off / 13 volts

Anyone experience excessive heat with the 80w LED’s for DRL’s? I am ordering the ijdmjoy H8 LED’s as some of you had on this string. Assume they are safe to run?
