I'm off down to Beaume De venise a small village in the south of France so from Calais it should take around 8 hours ish.
We are stopping in Dijon on the way down for the night, but on the way back its going to be just me (girlfriend is flying back at a later date) doing the full drive in one hit, not sure how the toll roads are going to work with me on my own I guess it will be a case of getting out at each one to go to the machine on the passenger side!
I always travel alone , and usually on an 8 hour trip through France , instead of viewing the toll booths as an inconvenience I always consider it a quick stretch of the legs and change of position , you'll be looking forward to it after a few hours
it's a couple of minutes on your journey .one thing to keep in mind though is make sure you pull up far enough to activate the ticket machine , you need to be walking down the side of the car to access it , nowt like pulling up short , machine doesn't take the ticket and having to get back in and pull up further to make yourself look like a stupid tourist . :lol: ask me how I know :
Cards work best in the toll booths , no pin needed , auto charge .
Don't get to stressed if people sound their horn , it's the norm to make their presence known , not a move aside peasant , like it is here .
I'm inheriting my wife's 340i touring , her new car comes when she gets back as I'm stopping there for a few weeks , or at least I'm hoping it comes the first Monday in September or I'm in trouble
