Driving and side lights

Whilst out driving today, I noticed I have no NS driving or side lights. Are the lights fused on separate sides of the car and are they bulbs? Is it a new light unit required?

I’m no expert but I’d say there’s a separate fuse for each side you could check fuse 62, 84 & 86

They are normal bulbs but not sure which fitting

The side light on the E89 is part of the 'halo' ring and the headlights are bi-xenon. If you have neither it's probably a fuse or a relay problem. Did you not have a 'bulb out' warning on the dashboard/ i-drive?

No warnings and nothing in i-drive. Main beam is working... haven't checked high beam, though. I'm thinking fuse or something. Not electrically astute this end 😄

So fuses are all good. Move on to relays, I guess.
Reading the first post again...is it just the 'halo ring' that is out, not the headlamp aswell? If so it could just be a bulb, as those are possibly not monitored by the diagnostics as they are not safety related.

Seems you are correct. Just removed the bulb, it is indeed, blown.

Are LEDs worth it, do you know, think, have an opinion?

The LEDs option looks a lot better IMHO. As noted, the halo's are a different brightness, but the overall look is a lot more white & modern.

I would fit LEDS, check out this thread for some decent options:

Cheers chaps. I'll give the Novsight ones a crack. If they're no good.... I'll try something else, lol

Last Tuesday, the day before MoT, I had large bulb icon on display and (something like) 'Daylight driving light failure on left' on screen. It was the bulb. £15 via indy.
