Drivers Window goes down instead of up!

Hello all.

When I pull the drivers window switch up to close the window, it goes down instead of up. It then takes numerous tries to get it to go up. It’s getting worst, needing more and more patience to get it to close, so I figure I’d better get it sorted before it fails altogether and I’m left with a permanently open window to deal with!

I’ve tried to do the window reset process, but the window goes down rather than up and spoils the whole procedure! Is it a relatively easy fix? Just a clean of the switch? Or a new switch? Or worse?

Any help or advise appreciated!

You should be able to make it go up using the key as a last resort.

Exit the car and close the door, insert the key in the lock and turn 90 degrees anti clockwise and hold. Any window open should close.

So, I got my mate to have a look! We pulled the drivers side switch unit out and pulled it apart. Could see any issues with any component or the current board, so gave it all a good clean and put it all back together. It’s working fine again now.
