Driver door window and passenger side bang

Morning all.

My wife is out and about and just called to say that her driver door window is partially stuck open and that there appeared to be an accompanying bang from the left hand side of the car.
She's panicking as she has to park up for z while but there's nothing I can do until she gets home.

I'm assuming that the regulator has given up the ghost, but what could explain the bang - if it is related?

Sounds like the fuse popped as the motor seized.

The cable for the window has snapped. I have no idea what the bang could have been, though.

I assume the bang would have been the cable snapping and the Tension coming off the motor.
