Drains and wind deflectors

Sorry if these questions have been asked before, but could not find answers on search. Please point me in the directions of the threads if there are any. SO :

1. If a drain is blocked where will the leak in the boot be ? I have a damp patch in the little well on the left hand side of the car. Not sure if it is a leak though, as also discovered previous owner had left a bottle of roof cleaner in there, which was lying on its side.
2. Are there different kinds of wind deflectors, if so which is the best ?

Thanks :)

1 - If water is coming it's likely a small leak on the boot seal or around the rear light,
2- The factory deflector is a solid framed item with a mesh insert that clips between the seats (I have one and find it works well) there are are others which I'm sure someone will share :)

Leaks in your boot is most likely the drain plugs. They're relatively easy to clean and probably a good idea to clean them every 6 months (for piece of mind).
People have reported leaks, as mentioned above, from the rear lights and the bolts where the boot hinges are bolted on.
My drain plugs were both gunked up and I had water in both wells in the boot. I pulled the carpet back and ripped the sound proofing out as that was soaked.

You can easily test the rear lights and hinges by pouring water over them with the boot open.
Talc is also good for tracing leaks.

Hope you find the fault.
