Double din ICE install

spent the past two days attempting to get the multichanger removed, bloodyhell is the car designed around it!

Did you manage to get it out?. Its not hard you just remove all the centre trim. I've had to do this when my cd's got jammed. I didn't dare use the multi changer again after to save me going through it once again.

I've got some audio stuff for sale out of my z4 I just sold last week. It was all new from shop 2 weeks old used about 8 times for probably 1hr each time. New JVC Bluetooth headunit, Z4 fascia surround, wires to connect headunit, amp/subwoofer and wires to connect cost me over £300

"unchained"? what do you mean? Yeah it's an awesome headunit! Just need the double din fascia to match it now :D

lets you mirror and control your phone (well android anyway not sure about IOS) entirely through the headunit using the hdmi connection, lets you run any apps not just what the headunit comes with etc, was able to run btsport etc on it, other satnav apps or whatever.

Ooooh, ok, I get what you mean. I have an iPhone, but it's jailbroken so I can use Car Play and also display and use any app I set on the headunit natively :D

3D Design is coming along! Will need to be printed in 2 halves due to it's size so gotta work out the fixings a bit, but making some progress :D

i'd just go single din Personally. they are cheaper to buy too. it's what i did. i too have a 6c changer and i just left it in there even though it doesn't work.

is it easy to disconnect the power as i think it's still connected sapping energy even though i can't use it.

Each to their own :) I personally love my SPH-DA120 so I much prefer the double din. My previous vehicles I had a Nexus 7 Tablet setup in as there was more room and fabricated panels to suit so I should be able to manage this lol.

On a side note, I am going to start a new thread of my own specifically about the progress and the fascia etc

Same thing then :) really, but well worth doing it (likewise your android device needs to be rooted) , but yup controlling the phone via the touchscreen etc made it much more worthwhile, and likewise that unit coming with the gps for £200 compared to mine at 650 it's a no brainer
