Door membrane cost and fitting

I need to replace both my door membranes, I can find them for just under £60 per side. Just wondering if anyone else has found them at a better price recently?
Fitting wise, I assume the airbags have to be disconnected to feed the wire through the membrane? Is this just a case of disconnecting the battery whilst doing the job?
I've seen Tec7 sealant recommended instead of butyl tape, have people found this better?

I bought them direct from BMW Lincoln recently and I think they were around £42 a side

Yes the airbags need disconnecting

Tec7 is much better than butyl

I bought mine in December from Vertu Motors on eBay, just under £42 per side. Personally I found working with the butyl tape very satisfying compared to using glue/sealant, and cheaper too. A 26ft roll from Amazon was £8 and I still have loads left. The time consuming part is getting all the old butyl off to leave a nice clean surface.

I found the butyl tape easy to apply as well, but it didn’t seem strong enough to hold the membrane at the bottom where the metal skin has a dip in it. That’s the bit they usually leak at. So Tec7 is my choice now.

I think I'll get a tube of Tec7. Vertu aren't listing them at the moment, as far as I can see, so I'll see what BMW Lincoln come back with. I was also thinking of putting some sound deadening in the doors as well while I had the membrane off.
