Door Locks Close but Dont Open

Hello, 2003 3.0 USA. My door locks close from the remote but do not open, both sides. I can hear the actuator shift when I push the unlock button however the locks don't open. I can open the driver door with the key mechanically. I feel like its a mechanical issue rather than an electrical one (although there are plenty of electrical issues with this car) I've tried searching for door lock on the forum but there are 900+ pages. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank You

Isn't the GM5 issue the relays? if so I would think the actuator wouldn't fire.
Could be the unlock signal is there, but the deadlock signal isn't.
[ref]Usel[/ref] devised a trick with putting voltage across pins on the GM5 connectors. Hopefully he will see this and reply.

The chances of both doors having a mechanical failure at the same time are pretty remote.

I feel like its an electrical issue rather than a mechanical one.

Wind the drivers window down and shut the door. With the key remote, lock the car, then unlock it and then reach inside and pull the internal pull handle.

If the door doesn't open then the dead lock operation is faulty on the GM5.

Using the key in door lock to open the door releases the dead lock mechanically, so do that, and then pull the pin wire out of the the door harness so the dead lock won't activate again.

Hopefully someone else can find the pin number for the wire and the colour of it because I haven't got time today :(

The permanent fix is to have the gm5 repaired or buy a used one. However if only one dead lock is the fault on it I would persevere until something else fails on it.

Ahh, Dead lock. Didn't know about that. Awesome thank you so much.
On a side note can anyone recommend the best set of shop manuals to get that include wiring diagrams?
