Door frame seal rubber

Hello I am new to this forum, thanks for the info and resource provided so far, I have Z4 G29 2:0ltr purchased as new since 2021, still enjoying today, great driving experience every day!

I have to had take my Z4 back to the dealer on a number of times for various issues:

1. The Infotainment system could the not register correctly to my profile from day one of the purchase, somehow it was registered to the UK VIN domain for BMW UK and not Switzerland, it took BMW HQ in Germany 6 weeks to rectify this problem.

2. After 12,000kms car had knocking noise when starting off and every time brakes were applied on slow braking, this was discovered to be steering rack having a fault and I was advised it was recognised as a manufacturing fault of the steering rack, this was replaced after being told that there was no stock in the warehouse had to wait one month, repaired under the manufactures warranty.

3. On top of driver side rear quarter, little piece of trim slides off it sits on this panel between the folding roof replaced it was only stuck on to body with double sided tape, replaced by BMW no charge

4. Last week found that the driver side door frame rubbers splits from casing after being told that its wear and tear, I ask the dealer to recheck with BMW HQ and I given them a scenario, I have only done 12k in kms and this car is hardly used on a regular basis, then an example of Ikea how the furniture (not as I am a fan of Ikea) is tested for 1000's of times and therefore the question are these items test in a similar way? two days later get back a reply, Yepp! it's ok item covered by BMW warranty, but no stock in warehouse will have to wait a month :)

Whilst I do like the car, I wish was less hassle having to convince dealerships right from wrong! it feels like dealing with something back from the "Flintstones" :D

Welcome to the forum.
It seems it's the same everywhere. Needing something done at their expense, first reply is always a NO. They probably do it in the hope many will say OK and pay or go away and not come back.

Welcome to the forum 👍🏻
I'd report your dealership to BMW UK. Its clearly not your fault, and you really shouldn't have to argue the facts to get warranted work carried out.
BMW UK seriously need to give their network of dealerships a shake-up. I consider myself lucky with my local dealership (Halliwell Jones BMW). I've dealt with them for over 26 years without issue. However, if 'BMW' want people to remain loyal to the brand they need to address the level of after-sales care offered by their franchise dealerships!c
Hope if all gets resolved for you. In the meantime, enjoy the driving 😉
