I've bought some door cards and heated seats to retrofit. I've found a thread on here explaining how to remove the door cards just wondered if anyone can give me any tips on removing them, tools used, time scale, replacement parts needed etc. Also was thinking of fitting some sound proofing while there off. Anyone done this? Is it worth it?

Can't help with your original question but I've just bought heated seats from here. Fairly easy job retrofitting them was it? Where did you get the centre console buttons from also? 
Still awaiting the loom and switch from Sopers should be able to tell you by the end of the week. I have removed the seats and unplugged them and also took out the swith this was all very easy. Did this to see if the loom had the heating wire, which it didnt so it will be a bigger job than I hoped. Not too woried though as if I can wire cruise control on a post o4 zed I dont think there is much else I will struggle with. :wink:

Card removal is a 5 minute job when you have done it once. Several torx behind the airbag badge, door pull and door grab handle. Then work the clips out from the bottom and along the window last.
Doen the insulation and it's easy enough is you get some from any audio shop. Cut it into strip s and cover all the inner door skin
You may need new membranes depending if the previous owner has damaged them

That's about it. The last one use a very fine blade, like a stanley knife and it will flick out real easy.

No - there is no need to touch the airbag unless you need to remove it for access deeper into the door inners.
Leave it alone. The airbag badge is just an easy way for BMW to hide the rear torx

Sounds right. IIRC CJ's post on retro fitting his audio guys spliced into the tweeter cable.
I spliced into it. Real easy and works fine for a basic system.

To remove the trim slide it a chromed couple of mm upwards, then lft the lower edge away from the base of the handle. The trim once unlocked will slide down and off
Remove the rest of the handle by undoing 2 large torx and then 2 smaller ones
Is that what you need?
