Don't Ignore The Beeps!

If there are no dents then i would suggest using Chipex.
You can order a touch up kit using your paint colour code.
Search Chipex on YouTube.

Work slowly, be patient and build up the paint in layers.
Eventually you can get it polished out.

No need to replace the whole boot. That's just asking for heartache.

This is why i am looking at perhaps installing a camera.
Not only is it difficult seeing the rear (which is manageable) but i find it a nightmare with the front bumper/diffuser and parking in front of sidewalks/kerbs. I definitely cannot see if i am about to hit it or not.

I ignored the beeps and hit a very low bollard at snails pace in a company car - did some damage as well, think it was £500 to get it sorted :headbang:

HaHA!

I parked last week in my usual spot and when i got out i saw that i was about 1 mtr away from the kerb. I initially thought that i had done a great job.
It's one of those kerbs that is low but not low enough that if i go over it i won't scratch the bottom of the diffuser.
So i had to inch it forward so that i did not look like a parking dork.

The front parking sensors don't detect it either as it is so low, so it's beep.....beep......beep.....crunch!

Think mine maybe over sensitive, i get Beep Beep Beep Beeeeep !!!. When i get out i'm miles away from anything :|

Same, the problem is then you start to think you can ignore them completely.

I used a MG whatever-it's-called crossover(?) for a few days at Christmas and I thought the parking sensors weren't working - turned out they were, they were just far more sensible than the ones on the Z.

Now, I know how that feels - SWMBO has a 208GTi in at a main dealer who did that but he actually drove over the kerb, when she reversed off it literally pulled bumper off the car, they repaired it for free but made a hell of a noise and scared the hell out of her

Just talk to a local smart repair company, they are excellent and fast
Just leave it out in the rain for a few days. The rust will blend in nicely to the VO colour. When it does just spray a bit of lacquer on it. :poke:

Thats a good thing, over sensitivity means you will detect things like chain link fencig or single strand wire fences etc

I'd recommend a camera, others don't but I think I'll notice a skip in my drive
Don't rely on just the camera though, mirrors are useful.... wife scratched one of my wheels 2 weeks ago
