Does this look right.

Just after a little bit of help, fitted my hardtop the other day and have now managed to convince myself that the soft top has not retracted fully, I have no warning lights and the latch does appear to have engaged properly but I could have sworn it used go a bit a lower, I have quickly taken a pic with my phone to hopefully show what I mean, does anyone else have a picture with the top down in relation to the centre console for compraison.

Apologies for the quality, but it's just to show what I'm on about.

just give it a little push to make sure. mine does it sometimes, nothing to worry about really

i had the same concern as you, but when i took it off the soft top wouldn't go any lower (including a little pressure from moi). mine has the same gap. about 3 or 4 cm. it's fine.

Thanks guys, I've been back out and looked at it again there's no way it can go any lower.

i wouldnt worry about it. for some reason mine doesnt go all the way down all of the time. i got sick of pushing it so i just left it.

i have driven at high speed (obviously the speed limits :? ) and had no issues such as the roof vanishing off the back of my car and smashing into the car behind me.

slightly annoying but i wouldnt worry about it

Mine got like that. I had it corrected under warrenty. left with them for four days. It still didn't go right down, where it did when I got the car new. I have a 10mm gap now and live with it.

I believe the correct setting is when there is a continuous smooth line from boot to rear panel to rear of foleded roof.

That naturally leaves about a 10mm step down to the trim between the headrests.

Fold the fabric the other way when it goes down (the side bit). After a few times it has learned this new fold. On my old Z, that fixed it.
