Does the alarm still work with the roof down?

Yes, as my GF will testify to the amount of times ive filled up with petrol, locked her in the car. (Just by habit of course...) Then had the alarm go off when she moves.

Its easy to test, roof down, lock car, put hand in, alarm will go off.

The movement sensors in the z4 are below the door handles so that you can still alarm with the roof down.

Ideally, keep nothing within reach if the roof is down and keep the windows up.

But in all honesty, if the car is out of your sight, always close the roof. Whilst no one is likely to steal you car, some clown could throw their rubbish into the car...

I thought that there are no motion sensors for the alarm instead the alarm is connected to the seats. If you sit on them while the alarm is engaged it will go off.

Dont think thats the case. Was in the pub last night, plenty of sun, the zed was parked with the roof and windows down. Decided i needed sunglasses out of the door cubby, reached in without unlocking and alarm went off. I was then accused of deliberately setting the alarm off to draw attention to my car as there were some nice girls about. 8)

ive noticed that the Alarm on my Z is utterly rubbish! i would never hear it if it went off!
