Does anyone wave?

Coming from Lotus ownership it was very common to get a flash and a wave as we passed. A really nice part of ownership, just wondered if it was something that's done with the Z4. I have notice that the roadsters certainly don't wave, not come across a coupe yet.

Other roadsters owners (Z3 & Z4's) often wave on this side of the pond but coupe owners don't wave.

I wave, usually get a wave back  .. Those coupe drivers must think they're special....or maybe they're too cramped by the roof.... 8). I wave when my car is in coupe mode and in roadster mode

I'll wave at anyone else in a convertible - from a 3 cylinder Chevy Sprint to a RR Corniche :driving: Some wave back, some don't - not a big deal.

A personal favorite is riding my bike and waving, and having the HD riders pull their hands back in when they see I'm not riding one of the 'appointed' bikes (they generally can't tell until they are close). I just find it amusing ..

I do get waves(here in Mexico) since I believe I have one of a handful of coupes in the entire country. Most people think its some kind of exotic. :driving: :driving:

I always wave at fellow zed owners if they make eye contact, which I find happens less the smaller the engine they have :poke:

I've been flashing and waving but not had any response yet! I keep checking the Spotted thread but to no avail.

the spotted thread must have a 99% failure rate lol, you seldom read 'that was me'

Roadster drivers would be more likely to wave as they are enthousiasts, the coupe drivers are just upmarket 3 series drivers :poke:

I used to always wave but due to the lack of love in return I've opted for a finger lift off the steering wheel. Sometimes it gets a response and if it doesn't I'm not left feeling like a complete goon! :D

What's the point of waving at roadsters? There's so many of them u'd be suffering constant RSI. Ud be better off waiving at passing lamp posts or trees. It'd be easier on the arm. I save my waves for the more discerning and deserving fellow coupe owners and u Shud all do the same when passing a coupe (unless u own a roadster in which case waving to a coupe would be presumptuous. You should pull over, get out and bow/courtesy/doff ur cap).

I wave! I recently waved at an E89 and he \ she waved flashed back :) I come from the Corrado scene and we pretty much all but stopped and hugged when we saw another one.
