Does anyone know how to fit one of these wind deflectors?

I just went for a cheaper option on the wind deflector and bought one of these from Germany. It arrived today but without any installation instructions. All I can find online is one really blurred pdf file in german that I can't really make head or tail of because the photos are so bad:

Does anyone know how to fit the two brackets?

1. Disassemble panel below the Roadster bracket
2. Install mounting bracket with screws provided below of the roll bar
3. Attach the wind deflector with thumbscrews on the holders.

Hood unlock and lift slightly .
Pull cover " 2 " to the rear.
Wind Deflector holder mount

Installation note:
Cover " 2 " belt guide under "1" and
Panel roll bar "4" thread .
Locking lugs " 2 " Aperture " 1" may
not be missing or damaged.

I'll and have another look at the car....
 
Looks like a bracket fits into the gap on the plastic at the Roll Hoop?

Then fit the Wind Deflector in front of the hoops.

The brackets fit between the two halves of the trim below the hoops. It says the rear half should be removed by lifting the soft-top slightly and then pulling that trim backwards. But there's nothing to grap hold of to do this and it seems on pretty tight to me. I don't want to pull or force anything too hard only to find I've been trying to remove it the wrong way and end up snapping something. :cry:
 
I've never seen this particular Wind Deflector before either.

Bite the bullet and buy an original BMW one like this....

I just happen to have one here that is used but not being used ever again as I bought a Wind Deflector attached to a 3.0 SI. :D I'll maybe stick the spare one up on the For Sale section this weekend.
 
Unfortunately, I am spending so much money at the moment on various cars (and other stuff around the house come to think of it...which is running to £thousands) the difference between paying £235 for that one on Amazon and the £66 (including delivery from Germany) for this one, is significant enough to have stopped me from getting the genuine BMW one.

The car is actually going to get low usage so I just can't afford to spend even more on it. I've just put brand new Goodyear AS2s on it instead of the RFTs...and yet since buying the car exactly 3 weeks ago I've haven't driven it at all. Not even once!

Going to have another look to see how that trim piece comes off. If I can get that off the rest looks straightforward...I think! :o
 
Ok. I figured how to do it...and would have had it done by now except that bloody brackets that came with it have been badly made such that the bends are slightly wrong and hence don't fit! :headbang:

If they'd been made correctly it would be such a difficult thing to install. :x
 
£235 for that thing that looks lile a pair of granny tights stretched between the roll hoops :o id hate to think how much the clippy in thing i have would have cost!

I bought the one I posted the original link for around 9 years ago when I had the 2.5 SE. It was nowhere near £235 from BMW then.
