Dodgy finish on exhaust tips from Autosol

Hi all, I have cleaned my exhaust tips with Autosol Metal Polish a while ago and while they look nice and shiny from afar, they are stained with a cloudy type look that I think is a result of the Autosol, anyone get this and know of a way to get rid of them? On my last BMW I used T Cut on the exhaust and it brought them up perfectly, so had a go with that but no better. I took a picture so hopefully you can see what I mean

Any ideas? :?

I also use Autosol for polishing the exhaust pipes, but never have this problem. Did you wash the pipes before applying Autosol? I clean the pipes with car shampoo first, then polish with Autosol.

I gave the pipes a once over before going for it with the Autosol, I wonder if it wasn't enough and it has reacted with something the vendor put on to clean them..?

I don't want to have to replace them but they look bad!

When was the pic taken straight after cleaning them with Autosol ?

They look like normal dirty exhaust tips to me bit of elbow grease with Autosol will look like new.

To be fair the pic was taken long after I cleaned them so there will be some bona fide dirt on there, but from memory I noticed the cloudy dodgyness about a week after I cleaned them. I tried more Autosol when I saw it, but nothing changed so I had a go with T Cut a week or so after and still no joy.

The surface is smooth so it doesn't feel like regular dirt, would going with something more abrasive than a microfibre cloth be a way to go or not at all?

I think it is like polishing with wax. You need to use dry clean cloth to polish the surface after applying it.

take them off and get them cleaned- if they dnt come good theresa set for sale in th buy and sell section for 18 quid
