Do you collect plates?

For reasons I can't explain I have an unhealthy interest in buying registration plates. I tell my wife I'm investing, she isn't convinced :?

Some of you may have noticed I have BMW 4 on the coupe.

Here are a few others I own...

I might put this on the coupe during the London Olympics. You can take the boy out of England, but you can't take England out of the boy

It's missing the 'A' because we're generally limited to a max of up to six letters / numbers.

This will probably end up on a 5 series wagon when I replace the A6 Avant.

And this was on the caravan we towed around Oz for a year in 2006. Initials and birthday if you're interested. But I liked the 'sun, surf, sand' bit. Pretty much summed up that year :D

Each State has their own licensing rules. So basically if you've the money and the imagination, and no one has got there before you, you can pick whatever combination you like.

I couldn't believe no one had picked up BMW 4 & BMW 5 ahead of me :-)

Once purchased the combination is yours for life with no ongoing fees. Bargain ;-)

5 minutes of licensing paperwork & no charge. Although also have to notify insurance & toll authorities.

Just me then? ;-)

I'll have to tell the wife. She loves an opportunity to say "I told you so" :-)

i would probably buy lots of different plates if i could just phone the insurance and say

plate x is on, without paying £80 each time and waiting 3 weeks for docs to come back
