Do we have TPMS sensors?

I have a 03 Z4. We have a TPMS light on the dash, but do we actually have to sensors??? I noticed that we have rubber valve stems....

Reason I need to know is because I am upgrading my rims to the M5 18" rims. I don't want to break down my current rims, take off the sensor and put it on new rims, but I will if I have to. I just want to know before hand. Thanks!

Ok guys, sorry, I answered my own question. We have indirect sensors, at least the 03-05 does. So no TPMS, thus the rubber valve stems. Sweet

No, that system is based on wheel rotation. When the system detects a variation in number of rotations for a given distance, it sets off the warning. This is based on the deduction that if the tire is deflating, it will reduce it's OD.
