Do I tell SWMBO ?

Let's get one thing clear - I'm not scared of my wife - I'm a lot bigger and uglier so what's to be scared of

It's holiday booking time at the moment - we always go to the same place in Greece ( boring to some I appreciate but it's like heaven to us ) My dear lady absolutely loves Wimbledon and everything comes to a stop each year to watch it on TV .

As a somewhat thrifty individual I keep an eye on Thomson's website and try to bag a holiday at the cheapest price ( prices go up and down depending on how much interest is being shown ) The upshot of all this is without telling her I've booked for 2 weeks from 8th July as the price was at it's lowest - have been proved right as the same holiday is now £340 dearer.

Unfortunately this means she will miss the second week of Wimbledon      I clearly have to own up at some point - now or later ?

Could she not watch it whislt on holiday? Must be some App for the iPad or a bar that might show it...

Failing that, record it to watch when you return and just keep away from newspapers and any other forms of media that might give anything away.

£340 is a big difference and for the sake of tennis I think you did the right thing. Own up now, she will have time to get used to it and hopefully then all will be well come holiday time!

If not, let us know which hospital ward you're in and we can arrange some flowers to be delivered :D

I'd fess up early before she even starts thinking about the tennis season.

Either way you're in the wrong. It may just take a day or 2 of her explaining to convince you that you did wrong..
If you booked Wimbledon you'd be wrong, as you would be if you booked both on different dates. :D

Nope... no chance... whatever you do, you're dead meat... :chairfight:

Don't they have internet connection in Greece.....BBC iplayer, on the iPad, by the pool, with a cocktail in her hand....sold!!

There's no doubt there will be a bar that will show it, especially if there are many Brits in the resort.

You could also watch it on BBC iPlayer as long as you use a VPN.

Your going to be safe as houses and miles away from the wet weather that Wimbledon fortnight is sure to bring to the UK.

Thanks guys - you're all right - what am I ? man or mouse ? ( squeak squeak )

They do have bars with tv's in Greece so what's the problem ? After all it's only the men's , women's and doubles finals she'll miss !

Time to man up !

...and the Semis - they're often better matches than the final...

I'm not helping, am I....?

iPlayer on holiday with a Gin. Perfect Combo

I didn't think you could access iPlayer outside of UK?

You can't but if you go through a VPN it tricks the system into thinking you are in the UK and allows you to watch tv :)

she wont be grumpy for long, she's going on holiday , the local taverna will show the finals maybe so chill in the bar with some wine and food win win
if you read nostradamus predictions 2015, is a washout anyway and strawberry prices go through the roof ,.... your better off in greece mate !

Here's hoping for your sake that there a Greek in each of the finals, then it will be on Greek TV for sure!

Alternatively bet a tenner that all the finalists will be Greek. If that comes up you'll be able to afford to fly back to the UK and buy Centre Court tickets, then fly back to resume your holiday! :D

Good luck!

I work away a lot and use a free one. Expat Shield its called, and assigns you a UK IP address so you can watch everything.

Start hiding your assets now, plenty of time to squirrel it all away just in case :)

Keep telling her that Andy Murray is Scotish and is no part of Wimbledon really. Zola Budd is more British :D
