ok so i purchased a new 3rd brakelight and forgot to order the 3 x springs and bolts (assumed they would come as a set tbh)

is it ok to put the new light on with the old spring and bolts and just not tighten them fully and order a set of 3 and swap them over when they arrive?

any body have a part number for the springs?

thanks

ok ive got the part number and got a price of £8.86p  seems a lot for 3 springs.... are they DEFO needed or can i just not tighten the old 1s up as much?

I ordered the new springs and washers for my new brake lamp for peace of mind. I could have used the old ones as they hadn't broken the old lamp but I thought I'd rather not risk it. That price seems like the standard springs, if you checked the part number on RealOEM then it hasn't changed. The springs and washers should come to less than £5.

I'll dig out the correct part numbers when I get home.

02 Hex nut M5 3 63259128043 $0.72
03 Spring for CHMSL 3 63257151981 $0.62

that's the part numbers i asked dealer for and they totaled just over £10, i can re use bolts but still, nearly £9 for 3 springs seems well over priced :headbang:

You're being ripped off ;) I can't find the nuts

Prices from Soper:

63 256 900 698 - newer springs - 3 x 0.84 = 2.27
07 119 907 030 - washers - 3 x 0.50 = 1.35

Unless you order anything else then you'll have to pay postage on such a small order.

I didn't get new springs, I just made sure I didn't tighten them too much. I learnt this lesson the hard way as a previous clear brake light i bought cracked due to over tightening the nuts.

Much better this time round.
