I'm such a pillock!
I gave the car a quick wash yesterday and having not long fitted my newly refurbed wheels I thought I'd give them a layer of protection. I knew somewhere in my stash of cleaning products I had some polish/protector designed especially for wheels, been in there for a while, only used once.
I ran out of time yesterday so I finish work today and first thing on my list is to go and do my wheels. So I set about, crouched down, rubbing this stuff on, really taking my time to get in all the nooks and crannies. By the last wheel some 30mins later my back is killing me but I'm looking forward to getting the buffing towel out and seeing the fruits of my labour. So I look at my pot to see how long it suggests I should let it bond for............................ what a complete twonk, I've only picked up the wrong pot and metal polished all my wheels
Luckily its the Meguiars stuff that is non abrasive and actually puts alloys on the lists of items you can use it on. But that is not the point, I've now got to buff this stuff off and start again with the right stuff, especially now I've just stripped all the wax off
So anyway an hour and a half later I've finally finished. Backs killing me but the wheels look nice
Anyone else done anything like this?
