I'm thinking of designing a Arduino based ultrasonic parking sensor for my E89. Before I get started, has this already been done?

Why bother when you can get one for £8-£10.

I bought this to have a play with, might fit on my mini camper van.

Wow, really low price. However, I'm after something a little different. I'm mostly concerned running my front lip into curbs. So basically a front sensor for curbs. Also, I don't want any electronics mounted or wired inside the cockpit. If I can use an Arduino with bluetooth, I might be able to use my Idrive bluetooth to communicate. Basically mount Arduino in engine compartment and wire to sensors. Then select the the parking sensor bluetooth channel when I want to use it. The Arduino will output beeps varying in frequency to the cars audio system via bluetooth.

You could also mount a few of these...
