So went and did my weekly shop at Aldi today - selected what I wanted and by brand and value. Got to the checkout and spoke to the sales assistant to negotiate a good discount deal on my selected goods - NO WAY I had to pay the list price for everything. Left the shop and the goods :o

Then went to Tescos and did the same - same result NO DEAL or discount.... :(

And the same at ASDA..........

So why do we complain when a BMW dealer won't do good deal if the mainstream supermarkets won't.....

Coz we're not paying a bit more than the price of a bottle of Blue Nun and a pack of Tampons. :)

Oh my word :o

I suppose what is a 'good deal'? What is a good deal to me is maybe unacceptable to someone else. A car purchase is a significant outlay and people like to ensure their getting the best deal for their hard earned cash.

Not everyone, but some people like to get a discount on everything. I know a couple that always ask for a discount wherever they go. They own a world wide brand and owned their own car dealership and even though money is no object they try to get as much of a discount as possible.

Can't compare buying a car to buying groceries. You don't part ex your used tampons for a start

Totally different retail situation.

That's just how it is.

Unless you are OK with paying £50k for a £35k car....

Probably because the ratio of people going into the supermarkets is 50,000,000 /1 of people going into bmw dealerships and the profit margins are similar, the big nice fancy car dealer ship buildings are paid for by you and me, ok you don't have to buy a new car but if you do it's nice to do it in a plush swanky building, but it comes at a price. Nobody wants to buy a new car in a warehouse.

Urrghh take no notice of my rambling tripe Alan, played poker last night and wrote that rubbish wasted. Hung over..? oh yes indeedy...
