DISA Upgrade

Upgraded my DISA unit today. Its something i've planned to do for a while.
I've kept an eye on it for a couple of years.

Its was a little lose and the pin had lifted up a tiny bit. I dont think it would have failed any time soon but feel betting having the upgrade now.

I got the kit from i6 automotive. They do a set for the 3.0 M54 and another for the 2.2 / 2.5 M54.

I did mine, and was a little disappointed at nearly 100k it all looked fine and in no risk of failing. Oh well, now i know it will be fine.

I'm happy to have piece of mind on this, ive been thinking about it for some time.

I got the impression a slight rattle it had on idle has gone now. But that could just be in my mind :)
 
.... prevention is better than cure, just ordered mine using the EBay link provided earlier.

There's a 'best offer' and I put in & got it for £45... now am thinking should have offered £35, ho hummm...
 
Interesting. :thumbsup: In the Netherlands a new unit will cost at least EUR 170. How difficult is the build exactly and what tools are involved?
 
Difficulty is relative, however there aren't too many steps & no special tools are required.

Same here, all 100% ok though worth peace of mind.

One small challenge was there are TWO hex bolts under the DISA unit... as per the picture coz I couldn't see what was up, I first took the one below out & couldn't for a minute work out why was still firm, so be careful;
