DISA (Differentiated Air Intake System)

I've been reading all about this problem, my question is does it affect 2.0 engines?
I can't find a single thread that mentions the N46 Engine having issues. (mine is a 2.0 E85 Roadster 2006 facelift)
I ask because I have a slight rattle when pulling away in first and second gear at low revs, other than that the car drives faultlessly (also it a high mileage car 98k)

as far as i can see the DISA issue most of us get is related to the 2.5 or 3.0i engines, the 2.0i is a different setup.

Thanks mac, it would make sense as I can't find any 2.0 owners discussing it nor can I see it in my own engine or find any online pics or descriptions of the DISA for 2.0 engines.
So hopefully my rattle is just a rattle :)

Thanks guys, the last two posts seem to confirm I have nothing to worry about regarding the DISA issue and the 2.0i engine.
(nfarmer - I'm surprised that the list doesn't include the E85 Z4 2.5i since this has been talked about lots on the forum with regard to the DISA issue?)

Should the DISA valve be replaced with the revised one just in case, or is it ok to wait until rattle, fault codes or other symptoms? I've read about the disastrous events if the metal pin falls into the engine...

Checking the DISA is straight forward there are a few great guides on here, luckily mine looked like it had been replaced, I would have thought plastic or metal breaking off isn't going to be a good thing, as for the metal one everyone seems to be going that way if it needs replacing due to no wear on tear on replacement parts.

Checked mine and it seemed fine. Wiped clean and put back. Took only a few minutes, so I'll add "inspect DISA" to my oil service routine.

Just bought my first Z4, it's a 2007 2.0 so same engine as yours. I've seen all the horror stories about the DISA valve and this is the only thread I can find for the 2.0 engine. Can I still assume it's not an issue for the 2.0 ?

That was 2 years ago - I traded my 2.0 for a 3.0 si in June 2015.
Hopefully someone will be along to answer your question definitively
