Dip Stick Retrofit?

Is it possible to retrofit a dip stick on a 3.0i 2011? Just did my first oil change and what a pain in the butt. I've vacuumed oil thru the dipstick tube for the last several years on all my other cars.

Seems strange that dipsticks are shown for sale on various sites.
I had a look at realoem to see if the fitting was blanked off. Shown are two types of oil pan.
When looking at my 23i, it looked a load of hassle, just simpler to run the front wheels up a kerb and crawl underneath.

I asked at the dealership if it was possible to check the oil level - they said yes and there is a workshop tool. (probably a fancy name for a dipstick)

I done like the idea of running the car 1ltr short of max - I know its within tolerance but it goes against my instinct.

Sounds suspiciously like the salesman is talking out of his ar*e, i can’t think of anywhere such a “workshop tool” would go? :?

I can , but the salesman probably wouldn’t enjoy the experience 😳

Might stop him talking out of it though!

It was service staff who told me about the workshop tool.
Im going to quiz them when I get a chance.

Failing a dipstick hole pity the sump couldn't be reached via the filler, as there must be drain galleries down to the sump.

I didn’t detect a pi55 take - I started working life as an engineering apprentice at 15yrs so I’ve seen a few!

By adding a dipstick you are introducing one more (unnecessary) leak point for both oil and crankcase pressure. Also an ingress point for dirt each and every time you remove and replace the dipstick.
If it was needed it would be there already.

Having driven from Norfolk to Cornwall and back this week, mostly on motorways, I can confirm that nearly all Audis have dipsticks............... fitted between the front seat and the steering wheel !!!
