Yesterday, while at the office, I get a call from the BMW Dealership informing me that my Intake had arrived earlier than scheduled. Oh Yeah! I said to myself. So right after work, I rushed over to pick it up.
Anyways, when at home, I had inspected all of the primary parts of the intake, and I have to admit, the build quality of this product is second to none. In addition, the included Dinan instructions were both clear and concise. Don’t you hate it when you have a set of instructions, that need better translation and have words are clearly misspelled.
So early this morning, as soon as I awoke, I quickly put on my sweats and sneakers, and knew it was going to be Quality Car Time…
The overall installation went quite well, with the exception that I knew that something was missing when on the very last illustration in the instructions, it had read “install the filter and tighten clamp”. Thinking to myself, I knew that step was obviously necessary to securely fasten the filter to the lid. Scratching my head, what clamp, :? & where? Looking over the parts lists, I realized that they did not include an additional clamp, what a bummer. So, I ended up driving over to the dealership
, purchased a clamp, and bunch of other stuff..... I think I will be sending a kind informative e-mail to Dinan regarding this…
All in all, the Dinan Company had noted that it would take at least a ½ hour for the entire installation, and I know a lot of you here can do this with your eyes closed. However, as for me, I wanted to take my sweet-#$% time. So, after 3 enjoyable hours,
I was finished.
While looking into the engine bay, I oooohh’ed and aaahhh’ed with joy.
The DHFCAI, truly looks OEM + more…
Here are some pics (sorry they are not clear & hi-res)…

Next week, I have an appointment for the installation of the Stage 2 Performance Engine Software
…& maybe the Ram-Air Intake Duct…
