searched the whole forum but didn't find anything to solve my problem.

today i changed the oil in my 2.5 2003 for the first time. But I noticed something, all the oil nicely drains, dipstick shows 0 oil in my engine, but in the oil filter housing, there's still quite a lot in the small hole underneath (i can put my screwdriver completely in it).

this probably isn't normal, any suggestions or tips would be welcome.

I didn't fill her up yet with fresh oil because of this.

It looks like it's simply a bit of oil that been prevented from draining by the two raised dividers.

Either fill it up with this still in there, or suck it out with a large hypodermic (other suction devices are available, or you could just use some tubing and your own lungs).

i used the proven method of tubing and lungs :)

when drained it was obvious that it is indeed, just as you said just a recess by the two dividers, it is however quite deep though, about the length of the plastic piece on the dipstick.
next time i'll be sure to drain it again as i don't like the idea of that much old oil staying in.

Yet another reason to change your own oil. You KNOW that no where you would take it will bother with this little detail!
