Difference between pre and post facelift 2.5 engine?

Hi guys,

What's the differenc between the 2.5 engine in the pre facelift cars (190bhp) and the post facelift (175bhp)? Is it just the ecu map? Also I'm guessing that 32000 miles is pretty much nothing on these engines?

The pre-facelift is an M54 engine and the post- is an N52. A lot more than just ECU changes. 32k shouldn't be a problem at all.

As Wondermike has got the proper answer out of the way... whether this matters will depend upon your tuning proclivities, but there are far less engine / exhaust ( ) mods for the N52.
