My bedroom started shaking last night, around 1am. I know this is small fry to some of you aroundthe world, but it was the biggest one here in 25 years:

We just recently have had a few earthquakes here in Southern California.... The Gods, must be angry :x ....
But seriously, I do hope that there were no personal injuries or major property damage...

Nah, was small fry really.... would be quite cool if it wasnt for the massive damage I know these things do in other parts of the world.

Sure did feel it. Woke me with a start. House felt like I had an underground train going through

Pretty rare in England

nowt down here in surrey but i too had been on the wine

Funny my girlfriend in Guildford felt it pretty good. We were chatting online and then suddenly she doesnt say anything for 10-15 mins, when she came back she says there was an earthquake and one of her flatmates ran in her room yelling "earthquake, earthquake!" but well.. in Greek. I myself felt nothing here in Canterbury.

5.3 is a pretty "decent" earthquake if you ask me. I remember a 6.something one when i was in school and that was pretty scary/exciting and also another pretty big one when i was a kid that i had fun because we were dismissed from school for the day! YAY! :D Good thing is because we get them often all buildings are suitably built so damages are usualy low. We have them pretty often in Cyprus but didnt have any big ones for around 5-10 years now...

Anyway i hope no one got hurt here as they can be very dangerous.

I was in the Alaska earth quake in 1964. It was 9.1 on Richter Scale. They are no fun. There is no place to run. After all those years I am still shakey if I feel a building shake or move. Wow I think I let my age go on that one :headbang:

My boss called me to make sure that our Wales office was still up and to check the cameras at the plant to look for damage. He'd been told they had "massive" earthquake. First thing I saw was the security guard asleep. I knew there was no issue. We had a 5.4 here a few weeks ago and didn't lose a ceiling tile. I went through the Loma Prieta quake in 89. That was the most I want to experience.

I don't even get worried from earthquakes anymore...I couldn't even tell you how many I've been through. At least 3 big ones though. I lived in Granada Hills during the Northridge quake that knocked half of our mall down!

Almost a daily occurence while I was living in Japan. Unless stuff starts falling off the walls, it is just ignored.

I was still up watching Rambo II (I recorded it from Mon night) and when the quake started I had to get off the couch to double-check that Rambo wasn't smashing up my kitchen :D
